I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I’m drawn to photography that centers around people, because it’s the people who give photographs their meaning. That connection is what continues to draw me to weddings.

Photography started for me in a high school darkroom class. Working in the darkroom, and film photography in particular, shaped how I see and approach my work. Film taught me to slow down, pay attention, and trust what’s happening in front of me rather than trying to create moments that aren’t there.

A large part of my process is built around working with film, primarily medium format, alongside digital. Film naturally sets the pace for how I photograph a wedding day. It encourages a more intentional way of working, with a focus on light, timing, and feeling. My approach is candid at its core, with a loose editorial sensibility when the moment calls for it.

When I talk about documentary photography, I mean being present. Letting people be themselves. Watching for honest interactions, quiet moments, and the in-between parts of the day that often go unnoticed but end up meaning the most later.

At the same time, I know when direction is helpful. Portraits, family photos, and certain moments need someone who can step in, give clear guidance, and keep things moving. I keep that direction simple so couples feel comfortable and look natural, not stiff or over-styled.

Couples who work with me care about photographs that feel unforced and honest. My goal is to create images that hold up over time, not because they follow trends, but because they reflect the people and the day as it really was.
